Happy 2 years of wedded bliss to my sexy pants Hubster and I

Today is our second Wedding Anniversary (!) and I am sick :( I think we had too much fun this weekend... I only had 1 or 2 beers and 1 glass of wine at Oktoberfest on Saturday but i think it was all the cold air on my wet hair on Sunday as we toured Dachau (Germany's first concentration camp) that did it. I hate being sick and the fact that it's our Anniversary only makes it that much worse. Hopefully we can go out to dinner another night to celebrate!

I like to think that all couples experience the same bumps in the road that my husband and I are experiencing throughout the first few years of marriage. Whether that is true or not, I hope we all remember to keep the fact that, we have not mastered this "marriage thing" yet in the back of our minds.
Marriage cannot be taught in a class, with a book. It is not learned over night after we say "I do". And, it is certainly not properly portrayed in movies or on television these days. Marriage is something that both individuals must work on together, using constant communication, honesty, love, and with more patience than even a first year kindergarten teacher needs to practice. In the "end" of the beginning of the marriage, it will pay off; once we learn one another's quirks and accept each other as simply human (yet perfect in "every" way), then we can sit back and enjoy the ride. Here's to the start of year three, and many more bumps along the way. I wouldn't want to experience this with anybody but you!

The Lymans have arrived; in Germany that is!

We arrived in Stuttgart at 8:30am (on Sunday, Sept, 5th 2010) Germany time which meant it was 2:30am US time. The flight wasn't bad, we ended up in the best seats on the plane down south of first & business class of course. We were right in front of the TV which meant we didn't have anybody sitting in front of us, just the wall and plenty of leg room! I think we deserved it after I spent the entire flight from Norfolk, VA to Atlanta, GA listening to a 19 year old sophomore talk about PCC (Pensacola Christian College). He was very sweet but didn't know how to take a hint. Even after he said "I'm hoping to get some sleep on this flight", he grabs his huge pillow and puts it on his lap, and I say, "go ahead, don't let me stop you". He just kept talking the entire flight! I even started looking out the window, reading a magazine, and yawning. Matt was listening to his Ipod comfortably in the seat in front of me, no clue why they placed us in separate rows.

2010 München Oktoberfest

Well folks, we did it! The Lymans have been in Germany for 13 days, living in a hotel, and without a vehicle. BUT...we made it to the 200th Anniversary, 2010 München Oktoberfest this past weekend and had a blast!
